EVERY PART DOES ITS SHARE

Ephesians 4:16 “From whom the whole body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working by which every part does its share, cause growth of the body for the edifying of itself in LOVE.”

We were talking about this at Bible Study, we all have gifts, but if we don’t pursue those gifts, we will never know what they are. When our fellowship first got together, we all took a test to see what our gift was to the body. Most of the gifts lined up with the five-fold ministry gifts but some of the other gifts were not in line with what God had called them to. To me if it didn’t line up with the word, we have a lot more searching to be done in order to find out what God has called us to be in the body.

The New Man vs the Old Man

Ephesians 4:16-19 “This I say, therefore, and testify in the Lord, that you should not walk as the rest of the Gentiles Walk, in the futility of their mind. Having their UNDERSTANDING DARKENED, being ALIENATED FROM THE LIFE OF GOD, because the HARDNESS OR BLINDNESS OF THE THEIR HEART. Who being past feeling, have given themselves over to lewdness, to work all uncleanness with greediness."

This passage of scripture was the I way used to be, but we are a new man, not a rebuilt sinner, God made us completely new on the inside. You look the same on the outside but the new man on the inside is completely new.

THE NEW MAN

II Corinthians 5:16-18 “Therefore, from now on, we regard no one according to the flesh. Even though we have known Christ according to the flesh, yet now we know Him thus no longer. Therefore, if ANYONE IS IN CHRIST, HE IS A NEW

CREATION, old things have passed away, behold all things are new. Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation.”

THE WAY WE ARE NOW

Ephesians 4:20-24 “But you have not so learned Christ, If indeed you have heard him and have been TAUGHT BY HIM, as the TRUTH IS IN JESUS. That you put off, concerning your former conduct, the OLD MAN which grows corrupt according to the deceitful lusts. And be renewed in the spirit of your mind. That you put on the NEW MAN WHICH WAS CREATED according to GOD, IN TRUE RIGHTEOUSNESS AND HOLINESS.”

You have a brand new board

The best way to describe the new man is to picture that you have a board, and it is full of old rusty nails. God doesn’t just pull the nails out of the board, and gives it back to you. He doesn’t do that, but what he does do is He gives you a brand-new board. Like I said before we are not rebuilt sinners but are a new creation in Christ.
